Fakenham Cricket Club
Situated in North Norfolk, we are one of Norfolk’s oldest cricket clubs and can trace our history back to 1815 when a combined Fakenham, Hempton and Walsingham cricket team were all out for nil against the combined villages of Brisley, Dunham and Litcham.
The formation of Fakenham CC came many years later in 1883 and since then the club has progressed to running three Saturday teams, one Sunday team, and many junior teams. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and welcoming club, and were recognised as such in 2015, becoming the Norfolk Alliance Cricket Club of the year.
We are proud of our thriving youth section with teams from under 9 to under 19. Since the inception of the youth system in the 1990’s, we have developed many players who have progressed through the ranks to represent the senior Fakenham sides and Norfolk County Cricket Club.
Fakenham run weekly youth cricket sessions during the summer offering high-quality coaching to all children that attend. The club also runs weekly net sessions for its adult members, every Wednesday at 6pm.
Our 1st XI have had a successful previous decade, with our most recent honours coming in 2018 as champions of the Norfolk Alliance Premier Division. Our previous Alliance Premier Division titles came in 2015, 2011, and 2001; with perhaps our greatest achievement coming in 2010, winning the Carter Cup against the odds.
Fakenham is one of a number of clubs in Norfolk to have achieved the ECB’s ClubMark accreditation.
With outstanding playing and social facilities, we welcome spectators, new, present and past players, members and sponsors to Highfield Lawn.
